Simone Biles: Photos of the Legendary Olympic Gymnast

Simone Biles is one of the greatest Olympians of all time. See the best photos of her on the gymnastics floor, on the red carpet, and beyond.

Simone Biles is considered perhaps the greatest woman to ever step foot on the gymnastics mat. With 7 Olympic medals, The athlete, born Mar. 14, 1997, is tied as the most decorated gymnast of all time.

She also is a record-setting gymnast, setting the American standard for most gold medals in women’s gymnastics in a single Olympics Games. She became the first person in history to land a double-double dismount (two twists and two somersaults while coming off the high beam) in August 2019, pretty much proving that she is the Greatest. Of. All. Time.

And Simone’s triumphs have not been without adversity. Her mother suffered from addiction during Simone’s youth, leaving her to give up her daughter. In her teens, Simone was sexually abused by disgraced USA gymnastics doctor Larry Nassar. She went public with her accusations in 2018 and since has been an outspoken critic of USA Gymnastics and the US Olympic Committee for failing to protect her and other girls from abuse.

Despite it all, Simone stepped up for team USA for the 2020 Olympics. Unfortunately, during the games the star came down with a case of the “twisties”, leaving her unable to perform her most advanced skills. After withdrawing from several events to focus on safety, mental health, and perseverance, she was praised for her leadership.

Simone Biles is truly in a league of her own. Check out more photos of the gold medalist here!
