Ricky Gervais is a comedy icon. Before becoming a TV sensation, Ricky had actually fronted a New Wave band during the early 1980s. He became a standup comedian in the 1990s, and quickly rose to become one of the most successful comics in the entertainment world. His breakthrough hit came in 2001, when he created the original British version of the mockumentary sitcom ‘The Office.’ While it only ran for 14 episodes, the show was a massive hit, and the U.S. version of the show ran for nine seasons, and is one of the most beloved sitcoms of all time.
Ricky has continued to be a staple of TV and comedy. He’s filmed a number of comedy specials and hosted the Golden Globes five times. He’s also won two Primetime Emmy Awards, and he launched the critically acclaimed comedy series ‘After Life’ on Netflix in 2019.
