See three dark lip looks from the runways of New York Fashion Week and find out how each look was created backstage!
Models at the Badgley Mischka, Alice + Olivia and Christian Siriano shows all wore very dark lips down the runway. This is clearly an emerging trend for fall! Pull inspiration from the looks, but then tone them down to be wearable for everyday. Blot your shade, add a gloss or apply a lighter shade if you won’t wear these dramatic and vampy colors.
At Christian Siriano MAC lead makeup artist Polly Osmond used MAC Lip Pencil in Nightmoth, followed by MAC Lipstick in Media and a touch of gloss. The makeup was otherwise very natural and clean.
At Alice + Olivia, Stila lead makeup artist Sarah Lucero used Stila Long Wear Lip Color in Daring mixed with a Smudge Pot in brown. The face was kept very clean and the eyes were also darkened with a slick line of the Smudge Crayon in Black.
At Badgley Mischka, MAC lead makeup artist Tom Pecheux used a matte burgundy lipstick on models, keeping the look very dark with a mix of burgundy and black. The one pop in the look comes from the strip of gold directly under the eyes.
