Michelle Yeoh has been one of the most enduring actresses in the movie industry for over 30 years. She got her start in the entertainment business as the winner of the Miss Malaysia World contest when she was 20 in 1983. She represented Malaysia in the Miss World pageant that same year, and she was cast in her first movie The Owl Vs. Bumbo in 1984.

She received her first leading role the following year in Yes Madam but took a brief hiatus from acting in the 90s to try to start a family with her then-husband Dickson Poon. After they split, Michelle returned to acting, appearing in many popular movies like 1997’s James Bond movie Tomorrow Never Dies and 2000’s Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon. She’s continued starring in so many different projects and earned her first Academy Award for her performance in Everything Everywhere All At Once.
