Matthew Perry tragically passed away at the age of 54 on October 28, 2023. He had been in the spotlight since rising to fame on ‘Friends.’

Matthew, born August 19, 1969, began his acting career on the sitcoms Home Free, Sydney, and Boys Will Be Boys but he became a household name as Chandler Bing on Friends. The sarcastic character became a fan favorite and people loved his romance with Monica (Courteney Cox.) During and after Friends, Matthew continued to captivate audiences with a series of comedic roles in The Whole Nine Yards and the short-lived reboot of The Odd Couple with Thomas Lennon.
His struggles with substance abuse and addiction have been no secret. Matthew had been open about his recoveries, and relapses, and takes a deep look at his issues in his book. The former Friends star died on October 28, 2023, from drowning. Multiple outlets confirmed that his cause of death was from the “acute effects of ketamine.”
