Matthew Perry: Then & Now — Matthew Perry has been in the spotlight since rising to fame on Friends. Over the years, he’s had his ups and downs and now with the release of his memoir, Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing: A Memoir, we’re getting an intimate look back at his personal life.

Matthew, born August 19, 1969, began his acting career on the sitcoms Home Free, Sydney, and Boys Will Be Boys but he became a household name as Chandler Bing on Friends. The sarcastic character became a fan favorite and people loved his romance with Monica (Courteney Cox.) During and after Friends, Matthew continued to captivate audiences with a series of comedic roles in The Whole Nine Yards and the short-lived reboot of The Odd Couple with Thomas Lennon.

His struggles with substance abuse and addiction have been no secret. Matthew’s been open about his recoveries, and relapses, and takes a deep look at his issues in his book.

Over the years Matthew has learned how to handle fame during the highs and lows. He looked a touch rugged during the premiere of The Circle at the Tribeca Film Festival in April 2017. There, he went casual dressed up in a slouchy, dark grey suit and a black t-shirt for some cool edge.
