Mary & George is a new STARZ drama premiering on April 5. The series is inspired by the unbelievable true story of Mary Villiers, who molded her beautiful and charismatic son, George, to seduce King James I and become his all-powerful lover. Through their scheming and power plays, the mother-son duo rose to become the richest, most titled, and most influential plays the English court had ever seen, and the King’s most trusted advisors.
Julianne Moore stars as Mary, along with Nicholas Galitzine as George. Tony Curran plays King James I. Additional cast includes Laurie Davidson as Robert Carr, 1st Earl of Somerset, Nicola Walker as Elizabeth Hatton, Niamh Algar as Sandie, and Trine Dyrholm as Queen Anne.
