Lucie Safarova, born February 4, 1987, is a Czech tennis player. Over the course of her long career, Lucie has won seven singles titles and 15 doubles titles under the WTA banner. At the height of her career, Lucie was ranked No. 5 in the world — in 2015.
While she was best known for her doubles titles — winning five grand slam titles — she was equally powerful on the court alone. Lucie made it to the French Open final in 2015, losing to American great Serena Williams. She has also made it to the fourth round of the US Open in 2014 and 2017, The semi final of Wimbledon in 2014, and the quarter final of the Australian Open in 2007. Lucie retired from the sport in May 2019.
