Kurt Russell is a Hollywood legend with a family full of talent. Let’s take a look at Kurt’s sons and step-kids.

Family man Kurt Russell has been in the Hollywood game since he was a kid, and his kids have practically grown up in the limelight. Born in Massachusetts on Mar. 17, 1951, and raised in Los Angeles, the 70-year-old star got his start as a child actor on such TV shows as The Travels of Jaimie McPheeters, Gunsmoke, and Gilligan’s Island before going on to be a bona fide movie star in the 80s with ‘John Carpenter: The Thing’ and ‘Escape From New York’.

One of his biggest hits was 1987’s Overboard, with his partner Goldie Hawn. Later in his career, he would receive accolades for his dramatic turns in Tequila Sunrise, Backdraft, and Tombstone.

Kurt’s show business success isn’t the only thing he can boast about. He’s also a family man. Kurt is the proud papa of son Boston Russell, whom he welcomed during his four-year marriage to Season Hubley, which ended in 1983. He also gushes over Wyatt Russell, his son he shares with Goldie. As the couple have been in a relationship for over 38 years, Kurt is a fantastic stepfather to Goldie’s other two children, Oliver Hudson, and Kate Hudson.

The second-generation entertainer admitted acting was harder than he expected while talking to the Mercury News in 2001. “Before I wanted to be an actor, I thought, ‘That’s easy. I can do that. It’s just saying lines so realistically.’ Then I started to do it, and it was not that easy.”

He added, “I would think that being a good actor was just being real. And I’d watch a scene that I did and thought, ‘That is so boring. There’s nothing behind it.’ Then you try to figure out how to bring it to life a little bit, and for me, it’s been a longer road.”

Goldie almost lost Oliver as a baby. He was born in tough shape and needed to be admitted to the ICU immediately after birth. She remembered first seeing her boy with People in 2017, saying, “Oh my God, was he beautiful. Eleven pounds of a hunk of love. I stood up and I just connected to the universe. I put my hand on him, and I asked God, I said, ‘Come through me, use me to heal my son.'”

Goldie’s prayers were answered and Oliver recovered. Remarking on the power of prayer, she said, “I don’t think there’s any question that prayer can work. I’m a very spiritual person. I’m not a religious person, although I was raised Jewish and I like my tribe, but that was a beautiful thing. It was phenomenal. I just emptied myself. I don’t know how to explain it.”

Wyatt explained how he had to learn the ropes of acting on his own during a chat with the New York Post in Aug. 2018. He said, “In anything — journalism, acting, being a lawyer, being a plumber — if you think the new job doesn’t give you some form of a learning curve, then you’ve got an issue. Because there’s something new that happens every time.”

Wyatt went on, “Having parents or people who were in the industry before you does not substitute for learning on the job. How people react to you is not how people react to your parents. They’re going to react to you in a certain way and you have to learn how to utilize that and make it all work.

“So [my family background] helped, of course, because my parents are good people — but it didn’t help me to think about what they would have done,” he said. “They’re not in my shoes and I’m not in theirs.”
