Kamala Harris, the first female vice president, is set to run as the Democratic presidential candidate in the 2024 election, facing former President Donald Trump. See some of her best pics here.

Kamala Harris is best known as a politician and former prosecutor who has served as the junior U.S. Senator of California since 2017. She is part of the Democratic party and was announced as Joe Biden’s Vice President pick for the 2020 presidential election on Aug. 11, 2020. The pick helps her to make history as the first Black and South Asian person to be chosen as the running mate of a major party’s presidential candidate.

She continues her political journey as the Democratic candidate in the 2024 election, running alongside her vice-presidential pick, Tim Walz, after President Biden withdrew from the race and endorsed her. They will face off against former President Donald Trump and his running mate, J.D. Vance, representing the Republican Party.

Kamala is originally from Oakland, CA and graduated from Howard University and the University of California, Hastings College of Law. She started her career in the Alameda County District Attorney’s Office and eventually moved over to the San Francisco District Attorney’s Office and later the City Attorney of San Francisco’s Office. She was elected as the 27th district attorney of San Francisco in 2003 and served until 2011. She was also elected as the Attorney General of California in 2010 and re-elected in 2014. She became California’s third female Senator when she was elected in 2016.
