The Canadian crooner, born November 7, 1943, began her career singing in small-town nightclubs before moving to the US. She eventually found herself in California, where her folk-rock sound fit just right in with the hippie crowd.
Her signature songs include “Big Yellow Taxi,” “Woodstock,” “Free Man In Paris,” and anything from the album Blue. Joni is also the recipient of the Grammy’s Lifetime Achievement Award in 2002 and became a Kennedy Center honoree in 2021. She is a mother of one and has been married twice.
