Hoda Kotb started as a local news anchor and reporter in Louisiana, then joining NBC News’ ‘Dateline NBC’ in 1998 as a correspondent. Hoda became the co-host of the fourth hour of TODAY with Kathie Lee Gifford in 2008, dubbed Hoda & Kathie Lee. When Kathie Lee left the show in 2019, Jenna Bush Hager took over. Hoda also became the co-anchor of the Today show’s first two hours with Savannah Guthrie in 2018, after Matt Lauer was fired for sexual harassment. Hoda has an Emmy for Today and has written four books. She’s the mother of two girls: Hayley Joy Kotb, whom she adopted in 2017, and Hope Catherine Kotb, whom she adopted in 2019. She was previously married to Burzis Kanga, but they divorced in 2009. She previously dated Joel Schiffman.

Now, in 2024, at 60 years old, Hoda announced she would be leaving the Today show. She shared during the show on Thursday, September 26, “A new decade of my life lies ahead, and now, my daughters and my mom need and deserve a bigger slice of my time pie.” She disclosed that she would be working through the beginning of 2025.
