The movie was actually released in July of that year but has since become one of the quintessential movies of the Halloween season. ‘Hocus Pocus’ stars Oscar nominee Bette Midler as Winifred “Winnie” Sanderson, Sarah Jessica Parker as Sarah Sanderson, Kathy Najimy as Mary Sanderson, Thora Birch asDani Dennison, Omri Katz as Max Dennison, Vinessa Shaw as Allison Watts, Sean Murray as Thackery Binx, and Jason Marsden as the voice of Thackery Binx. The movie was directed by ‘Descendants’ director Kenny Ortega. ‘Hocus Pocus’ follows a trio of witches — the Sanderson sisters — who are resurrected by a teenage boy in Salem, Massachusetts, on Halloween. ‘Hocus Pocus’ is regularly shown on Freeform throughout the month of October every year as part of the network’s ’31 Nights of Halloween.’ The movie celebrated its 25h anniversary in 2018.
