Guy Fieri (born Guy Ramsay Ferry on January 22, 1968, in Columbus, Ohio) is an American restaurateur, author, and television personality. Guy grew up in Ferndale, California, and began his love for food by selling pretzels from his “Awesome Pretzel” cart to finance his Foreign Exchange Student trip to France. While overseas, Guy studied cuisine and when he returned, he worked at California’s Red Lion Inn until attending college in Las Vegas.

After graduating with a degree in Hotel Management, Guy worked for Stouffer’s and began to develop concepts for restaurants. In 1996, he and business partner Steve Gruber opened Johnny Garlic’s, a California pasta grill. The restaurant went on to become a successful chain and Guy continued to grow his career after winning the second season of The Next Food Network Star in 2006. After his first show, Guy’s Big Bite, his second series, Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives premiered in 2007 and went on to be extremely popular. In addition, he also hosted Guy Off the Hook and Guy’s Grocery Games.
