From turn-of-the-century Paris, to deep space and beyond, Ewan McGregor has made it clear he’s the man for any role. The Scottish talent, born Mar. 31, 1971, got his start on the British TV series and in the gritty indie film ‘Trainspotting’ before becoming an international name his role as Jedi Obi-Wan Kenobi in the much-panned ‘Star Wars’ prequels. (He reprises the role in a 2022 limited series for Disney+.)
Other iconic credits include ‘Moulin Rouge’, ‘Blackhawk Down’, ‘Angels & Demons’, ‘The Ghost Writer’, ‘Doctor Sleep’ and the FX adaptation of ‘Fargo’, for which he won a Golden Globe Award for Best Actor in Miniseries or Television Film for his dual role as brothers Ray & Emmit Stussy. In 2013, he was appointed an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE), one of the highest honors for members of the Commonwealth.
