So many of our favorite Disney Channel stars have grown to truly inspire us over the years. Many of those inspiring stars identify as members of the LGBTQIA+ community! Over the years, stars that we grew to know as children and teens have grown up to be adults who know themselves and are living their fullest, most authentic lives. 

Stars like Miley Cyrus, Raven-Symone, Joey Pollari, and so many more have inspired so many fans because of their advocacy, allyship, and their proud identities as members of the LGBTQIA+ community. Not only have they opened up about their journeys of coming out in the public eye, but they have gone on to be inspirations to fans who grew up watching them on the small screen.

Miley Cyrus opened up about her sexuality and being a queer woman multiple times as she has matured in the music industry. She opened up about how it was important for her to be a proud queer woman during her marriage to Liam Hemsworth. After the couple split, she had a whirl wind relationship with Kaitlynn Carter.

Known to Disney fans as Miles on ‘Avalon High,’ Joey Pollari opened up about his sexuality while doing press for ‘Love, Simon’ in 2018. He came out as gay at the age of 18, and the central story of ‘Love, Simon’ completely resonated with him.

Raven-Symoné came out after the landmark Supreme Court ruling that extended marital rights to gay people in 2013. She tweeted that, because of the ruling, she could finally get married and did just that in 2020!
