The Women’s March started in 2017 in response to Donald Trump getting elected as the 45th President of the United States. People marched all around the world, with the flagship march in Washington, D.C. on January 21, fighting for women’s, reproductive, LBGTQ+ rights, and more. The first DC march gathered around 500,000 people, and people also marched in 84 total countries in 198 cities. The march has continued on each year since, with marches globally as well. Celebs have been spotted at the Women’s March, along with famous politicians. In 2019, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez delivered a speech in Jan. 19 at the NYC March, soon after she was elected into Congress. Additionally, U.S. Senator Cory Booker, U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry, Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren, and many more showed their support for the Women’s March cause.
