Kira Mengistu is ready to take the beach by storm on Bachelor in Paradise. Fans initially saw Kira as a contestant on Clayton Echard’s season of The Bachelor. Her limo entrance featured her showing off her lingerie underneath her lab coat, but after that, she didn’t receive much screen time on the show. Now, Kira is ready to try and find love once again! 1. Is Kira Actually A Doctor?

Yes, Kira is legitimately a doctor. Her most recent job was as the Attending Physician for Internal Medicine at Penn Medicine in the University of Pennsylvania Health System. She’s had the job, which focuses on care of “medically complex patients with life threatening illnesses” since Oct. 2019. Before that, she was a Resident Physician in Internal Medicine at the Cambridge Health Alliance in Boston from 2019-2019. Kira is licensed to practice medicine in Pennsylvania, and was previously licensed in Massachusetts.

2. Where Did Kira Go To Med School?

Kira attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill’s School of Medicine from 2012-2016, where she received her MD. Before that, she completed undergraduate at Harvard University in 2011. She also has a Master’s of Business Administration from The Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania, which she obtained in 2021.

3. What Happened To Kira On ‘The Bachelor’?

Kira was a contestant on season 26 of The Bachelor at the beginning of 2022. She dated Clayton on the show, but was eliminated fairly early on in week 3.

4. Kira Was On The Frontlines Of The COVID-19 Pandemic

Due to her works as a doctor, Kira treated plenty of COVID-19 patients during the height of the pandemic. “It was a difficult time for everyone, and most people were stuck at home feeling helpless while everything was going on,” she explained. “But I felt like I was actually making a contribution and was really able to help during the pandemic. That was really empowering. I didn’t necessarily enjoy doing it because it was really difficult, but it was great to be able to help in any way I could>”

5. Kira Was Single For 5 Years Before ‘The Bachelor’

Kira was focused on her schooling and career before finally putting her love life first on The Bachelor. Her friend actually nominated her to be on the show amidst a five year single streak.
