Camila Cabello isn’t shy when it comes to singing about her love life in her music, and she’s had a few muses throughout her time in the spotlight. Whether it was her long-term romance with Shawn Mendes (or their short-term reunion) or her brief romances with Austin Kevitch or Matthew Hussey, Camila has been asked about her love life a few times. In 2023, the “Havana” singer sparked new speculation when she was seen spending time with Drake in Turks and Caicos. During her 2024 “Call Her Daddy” interview, Camila spilled some tea about her romance history. Find out more about her past relationships here!

Camila was spotted talking to the rapper during a getaway to Turks and Caicos in December 2023. The pair were seen chatting on a boat, and Drake had a big smile on his face, as he was mid-conversation with Camila. The two of them were also seen riding jet skis.

Four months later, the “Bam Bam” artist spoke with host Alex Cooper during a March 2024 “Call Her Daddy” podcast appearance.

“You were on vacation … with Drake,” Alex pointed out, to which Camila responded, “Oh gosh. It was a vacation plus some work.” She then winked cheekily at Alex, and the two started laughing. “So, it was vacation plus more,” Camila admitted, before noting, “I love that man. I love him. … We all love him.”

Shawn Mendes (Again)

On April 14, 2023, Camila and Shawn were spotted hanging out while chatting, hugging, and kissing at Coachella. causing major speculation that they rekindled their flame. A video was taken of the memorable moment, and fans blew up on social media about whether or not the two were back together. Days later, Camila posted a song clip on Instagram, where she seemingly sang about Shawn being on her mind. Although she didn’t name names in the song, she did reference a potential meet-up at Coachella (the track was recorded on April 12, two days before the reunion actually happened).

“How come you’re just so much better?” she sings in the clip. “Is this going to end ever? I guess I’ll f*** around and find out. Are you coming to Coachella? If you don’t it’s whatever, if you do, it’s all I’ll think about.”

Fans couldn’t stop buzzing about her Coachella kiss with Shawn Mendes, whom she previously dated for two years before they split in November 2021. After their reunion, the pair were spotted out and about on a few occasions, including enjoying concerts, holding hands on date nights, and more. Unfortunately, though, it was reported that they’d split up in June 2023, about two months after first reuniting.

Austin Kevitch

At the beginning of April 2022, Camila appeared in a video for Vogue, sharing her skincare routine and beauty secrets. While doing so, she revealed her relationship status since splitting from Shawn. “Now that I’m single, I wear a lot more lipstick and red lips and brown lips,” she explained during the makeup tutorial. “I don’t like the feeling of kissing someone with gloss on. It’s a lot. So now that I’m not kissing anybody, it’s gloss time, baby!”

However, just a few months later, the Cuban-born superstar parked romance rumors with Lox Club CEO Austin Kevitch when they were seen enjoying some time together on a stroll through Los Angeles. Then, in August 2022, the pair were seen sharing a passionate kiss during a lunch date. The pair kept their relationship on the down-low, and Camila enjoyed the quietness. “She loves that he’s in tech instead of show-business, it’s a first for her and she’s enjoying it,” a person close to the singer told HollywoodLife EXCLUSIVELY at the time.

They were seen once more sharing a laugh as they left dinner at Giorgio Baldi in November 2022. The pair linked arms as they headed to their car, with Camila laughing so hard she was bent over. The relationship was reported to be over by February 2023.

Shawn Mendes

Camila and Shawn were first linked in 2015 when they collaborated on the song “I Know What You Did Last Summer,” but they insisted at the time that they were just friends. It wasn’t until 2019 that they became romantically involved. This came after they worked on the song “Senorita” together. “I don’t think we knew what to do with those feelings,” Camila told in 2019 about the beginning of their romance. “It was this awkward thing where we both liked each other, but we weren’t together.” They would go on to be inseparable over the course of their relationship, even quarantining together during the pandemic, until last November, when they officially called things off.

In her first interview after news of the breakup, Camila said that it was simply the process of growing up that led to the split. “My focus has really shifted,” she explained. “I think as I get older, yeah, the priorities shift. And I feel like that was that way for both of us.”

The two ended things amicably and were even photographed hanging out together as friends in the beginning of 2022. They have spoken about the demise of their relationship, however, in their new music, with Shawn dropping hints in his latest single, “When You’re Gone,” and Camila telling a similar story on her song from Familia called “La Buena Vida”. However, they made it clear in interviews that they were on good terms after the split.

Matthew Hussey

Before she dated Shawn, Camila was linked to British life coach Matthew Hussey. The pair reportedly hit it off after meeting backstage at the Today show in 2018. A year later, they attended Vanity Fair’s Oscars after-party together. News of Camila and Matthew’s split broke on June 25, 2019 but HollywoodLife had EXCLUSIVELY confirmed that the two had already been broken up for about three weeks at that point. The breakup news hit just days after Camila and Shawn released their sultry collaboration on the song called “Senorita.”

Camila called YouTube sensation Austin Mahone her boyfriend while she was still part of the girl group Fifth Harmony back in 2014. The pair would date for almost a year before going their separate ways. “I don’t regret anything. It was my first kiss, my first love,” Camila admitted to Seventeen about Austin. “It’s important to learn about liking somebody and being swept away, but it wasn’t meant to be.”
