President Biden, now 81, announced in July 2024 that he would not seek re-election and endorsed his Vice President, Kamala Harris, as the Democratic nominee. “I have decided not to accept the nomination and to focus all my energies on my duties as President for the remainder of my term,” he shared on social media.
