He spoke of his love for the movie Forrest Gump and how the movie paralleled the couple’s relationship, all the way to Joey’s untimely death. Rory Feek, 49, took to his Facebook page on April 2 to share a devastating, but beautiful photo of Joey Feek‘s grave on their farm in Tennessee. The photo was captioned with an inspirational quote, that made it clear Rory’s not giving up even though he’s missing his wife so much.
After Joey Feek‘s tragic passing from cervical cancer at age 40 on March 4, Rory Feek, 49, and their daughter, Indiana, 2, celebrated their first holiday, Easter, without her. Though it was unimaginably hard for him to go through this special day, he wrote on his prolific blog that Indiana was just fine. In fact, she hasn’t really noticed that Joey’s gone. And they actually wanted it that way.

Joey Feek was laid to rest on March 8 in a sweet ceremony at her family’s farm in Tennessee, but those who weren’t able to attend the private gathering — her fans — wanted to find their own way to honor their hero. A loving memorial service was held for Joey at the Alexandria-Monroe High School gymnasium, in Joey’s hometown of Alexandra, Indiana on March 13 at 2:30pm local time.
