Keith Urban, 48, has lost a very important person in his life — his father. Robert Urban died on Dec. 5 following a courageous battle with cancer. Keith’s dad had been placed in hospice care just days before his death. Keith is mourning the loss of his father, but thanked his fans for the “outpouring of love and support” during this difficult time.

He joined rock legend John Mellencamp, 64, onstage at the CMA’s with an amazing version of John’s 1984 hit “Little Pink Houses. Then John turned the stage over to Keith to perform his number one hit “John Cougar, John Deere, John 3:16.” The “John Cougar” Keith is referring to is John’s original stage name from back in the 1980s, when he came out with hits like “Hurts So Good.”
