‘The Interview’ To Release On Christmas Day

After being ridiculed by many, including Barack Obama, for pulling ‘The Interview’ from theaters, Sony has changed their tune and will allow select theaters to show the film on Christmas day.

On Tuesday, Dec. 23, Sony made the decision to release The Interview after all. However, the release will be just a fraction of what was originally planned for the film, with select theaters across he country receiving permission to show it starting on Dec. 25.

U.S. investigators have determined that hackers working for North Korea were directly responsible for the Sony hacking attack, according to CNN and CNBC.

U.S. law enforcement officials revealed on Dec. 17 that they believe North Korea was behind the attack on Sony Pictures Entertainment. The shocking news comes after Sony canceled the theatrical release of James Franco and Seth Rogen‘s new action comedy film, The Interview, which is about two celebrity journalists who set out to assassinate North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un.

‘The Interview’: Theaters Cancel Showings Due To 9/11 Threats

This is terrifying. After receiving 9/11-styled threats of an attack on theaters that screen ‘The Interview’, Sony has given permission to theater owners to cancel any and all screenings of the film if they feel unsafe.

Sony is taking extra precaution after hacking group Guardians of Peace released chilling threats of a 9/11-esque atttack on theaters that screen James Franco and Seth Rogen‘s upcoming film The Interview. Theaters were given permission by Sony on Dec. 16 to cancel screenings of the film should they feel unsafe, and theater owners are frantically canceling the screenings.
