This is SO SAD it had to come down to this! The U.S. Women’ s national soccer team has filed a lawsuit to demand equal pay and playing conditions as the men’s national team. Right now, they make about a quarter of what the men do, and unlike the guys, the women’s team has hoisted the World Cup trophy above their heads not once but three times, most recently in 2015! But that still wasn’t enough to get them the same pay and treatment as the guys, so it’s off to court!
The US Women’s Soccer Team arrived at the White House on Oct. 27 to be honored for their victory in the last Women’s World Cup. President Barack Obama, 54, personally called out several of the team members during a speech honoring the team, however one name was conspicuously absent from his list, starting goalie Hope Solo, 33. Was POTUS dissing the frequently arrested soccer star?
Hope Solo, 34, is fuming mad over Maksim Chmerkovskiy‘s, 35, comment about her being a “sh–ty person” and she isn’t going to let him get away with it without responding! Once Hope’s ex-Dancing With the Stars partner’s harsh words got back to her, she responded with just a simple picture on her Twitter.
The US Women’s soccer team was beaming with pride — for good reason! They won the 2015 Women’s World Cup! Carli Lloyd, 32, Hope Solo, 33, Abby Wambach, 35, and the rest of Team USA were honored with a parade in The Big Apple. Thousands of soccer fans, including NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio, 54, were there to congratulate the US Women for their amazing win!
The United States Women’s National Team is on a role! They defeated Columbia 2-0 and will advance to the quarterfinals of the 2015 Women’s World Cup. In attendance for that game was U.S. Soccer’s president, Sunil Gulati, 55. Sunil was there to root on Team USA. He wasn’t, as it turns out, there to talk about Hope Solo, 33, and her domestic violence scandal as he refused to even discuss it!
She’s been courted by controversy as the U.S. national team continues to thrive at the FIFA Women’s World 2015, but Hope Solo, 33, has the support of U.S. Soccer Federation president Sunil Gulati, 55, who continues to defend her place on the team amidst a domestic violence scandal that happened back in June 2014.
Say it with me: U-S-A! U-S-A! After their 3-1 victory over Australia on June 8, the United States Women’s National Team proved why they’re THE top soccer squad in the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup. With a Gold Medal goalkeeper and one of the best Forwards in the game, I think Team USA is going to crush the competition!
