‘The Voice’ continued Feb. 6 with more blind auditions, full of heartfelt stories of survival and recovery, friendly competition, and the music of Prince.

The second night of The Voice‘s blind auditions began and it was epic. The show opened to Cee Lo Green in sequins, Christina Aguilera in a dangerous-looking hat, and a medley of Prince songs performed by all four coaches. Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, Christina and Cee Lo then settled into their chairs to battle it out for the night’s batch of superstar hopefuls.

Last year, The Voice emerged as a bright spot on NBC’s schedule. It’s therefore no surprise that the struggling network gave the next-generation singing competition the plum post-Super Bowl slot. The show launched its second season with a round of blind auditions, in which the coaches — Adam Levine, Christina Aguilera, Cee Lo Green, and Blake Shelton — began putting their teams together. For a season premiere, the episode was a little underwhelming, but not without its highlights.

'The Voice's' Vicci Martinez Says Javier Colon Deserved To Win: 'He Puts His Family's Interests First!'

We all know ‘The Voice’ winner Javier can sing, but when it comes down to it, his competitors say he’s all about his kids — and that’s why he deserved to win.

Congrats go out to 34-year -old Javier Colon, the dad of two from Stratford, CT who walked away with the title of The Voice, on last night’s finale of NBC‘s breakout hit. And don’t think there were any hard feelings from the other three finalists, Dia Frampton, Beverly McClellan or Vicci Martinez. All his competitors believed in him , as well as his coach Adam Levine, and were secretly hoping he would walk away the winner! Why? He’s truly a family man.
