Bruno Mars is being accused of stealing music. The 30-year-old is being sued by Jonathon Puckett for allegedly stealing his song “Cry” that was recorded in 2010. Jonathan, who is currently serving time at the Pinckneyville Correctional Center in Illinois, claims that “Grenade” is almost exactly like his song and that Atlantic Records “stole” his music and repurposed it for Bruno’s monster hit. Jonathon is now seeking $20 million!
Today was a huge day for Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars, because they just won the 2016 Grammy Award for Record of the Year – what an honor! We’re seriously so happy for them, and we can’t think of anyone who deserves it more since “Uptown Funk” was the catchiest song ever. We have the scoop, here.
The Super Bowl 50 halftime show on February 7 was absolutely insane, and Lady Gaga, 29, clearly thought so too! Gaga ran up into the stands as soon as the show began to rock out to all the performances, but had one act that was her favorite: Bruno Mars and Mark Ronson doing ‘Uptown Funk’! She showed off her love for the performance on Snapchat!
Sorry to say, but even with Beyonce, 34, as a guest performer, the 2016 Super Bowl halftime show fell a little short compared to what we’ve seen in previous years. Sure, she, Coldplay and Bruno Mars brought a ton of energy and there were a bunch of exciting moments, but there was just too much to live up to for this one to convince me that it will be as memorable as, say, the Janet Jackson/Justin Timberlake debacle! If only Bey had a nip slip, right?!
