The holidays came early for so many children across the country thanks to Serena Williams‘ three-year-old daughter, Olympia‘s, favorite baby doll Qai Qai! In a new post that the 23-time Grand Slam champion’s husband, Alexis Ohanian, shared to Instagram on December 21, Olympia watched as versions of her doll were welcomed by families in a video compilation that Serena, 39, shared to Twitter on December 12. “All those babies have their own Qai Qai,” Alexis, 37, told his baby girl.
“That’s my friend,” Olympia said while watching replicas of her doll be hugged and loved on by little kids. Olympia, with pink pom-poms in her hair, loved watching the video and even commented on how the kids “love” their new doll! “I have Qai Qai,” Olympia observed, to which her dad said, “now all of these other little kids do, too!” After asking Olympia what she thought, she seemingly told her dad how “pretty” the dolls looked.

The video comes over two months after Serena and Alexis decided that they wanted other children to experience the pure joy and happiness of having their own Qai Qai just like their precious three-year-old! “We’ve come to realize that Qai Qai could be the beginning of a new kind of toy story, and one that we’re excited to help bring to life so our daughter and millions of other children can see and play with more toys that look like them,” Serena wrote in her October 15 Instagram post. The Instagram featured a photo of Olympia snuggling up to Qai Qai and looking so incredibly cute!

Olympia rarely goes anywhere without her adorable baby doll. In fact, Qai Qai became so popular on social media that she earned her own Instagram account in August 2018! The adventures of Olympia and Qai Qai have been chronicled by the three-year-old’s parents on social media, and the toddler and her favorite doll have had so many fun times together.

Qai Qai has joined Olympia for a dip in the pool, working on her backhand at the 2020 U.S. Open, and even for casual moments where they hang out on the steps of their Florida home. It’s been so sweet to see other little kids’ reactions to getting their own Qai Qai. What a perfect idea from Serena and Alexis, who have demonstrated time and again the positive and creative ways they are using their influential platforms and setting an example for their daughter.
