Katy Perry, 36, gave us major nostalgia when she revealed a new hair makeover on Dec. 13 that reminds us of her look way back in 2008! The singer posted a series of Instagram photos that show her posing in a pink and black patterned dress with cut-out sections at the shoulder and black gloves while flaunting long black locks with bangs. She also appeared to wear matching black boots and the perfect touch of pink lipstick and flattering mascara.
“M🖤THER,” Katy appropriately captioned the epic post, referring to her new role to her three-month-old daughter Daisy Dove, whom she shares with Orlando Bloom, 43. Once she shared the gorgeous pics, her fans quickly took to the comments section to compliment the star.
“You look so good,” one follower wrote while another exclaimed, “I love your black hair!” A third agreed by writing, “We missed your black hair” and a fourth called her “a living goddess”. Even actress Gwyneth Paltrow, 48, couldn’t help but comment with, “Ooooohhh pretty🖤”
Katy’s new black hair looks very similar to the hair color and style she had when her 2008 hit album, One of the Boys, was released. It’s the record that included her breakthrough song, “I Kissed a Girl”, which made her a household name. Although the whirlwind year was certainly one of the most memorable of the beauty’s successful career, her role as a mom is topping 2020.
Katy and Orlando welcomed Daisy in August and have been doting about the baby girl ever since. Although they’ve been pretty private about showing her off, they’ve been open about their joy in having the new addition in their lives. They’ve also been open about the challenges.
“My daughter is such a gift, but there is sometimes a challenge concerning sleep no matter how much support you have,” Katy said in a Q&A during the virtual Meditate America event on Dec. 3. “Where am I going to get those six hours that I used to get?”
She went on to explain that she benefits from transcendental meditation so things are all good, and a source previously told us that she and Orlando have been getting help from her sister, Angela Hudson. “In addition to spending a lot of time with Orlando’s son, Flynn, [9], since they began dating, she’s also been quarantined with her sister and brother, and her nieces and nephews,” a source close to Katy told HollywoodLife, EXCLUSIVELY in Sept. “Her sister, Angela has a 6 and 3-year-old and her brother, David [Hudson], also stayed with them for a while with his 13-month-old baby.”
