Lisa Vanderpump took to Instagram to reveal the ‘devastating’ news that her beloved dog, Giggy, has died and many celebrity friends, such as Andy Cohen, sent loving messages of support.
Lisa Vanderpump, 60, is suffering from the loss of her much loved Pomeranian dog, Giggy. The television personality shared the sad news that the famous pooch died on the morning of Dec. 12, in an Instagram post that was full of memorable photos and a heart wrenching caption, and several fans and celeb friends, such as Andy Cohen, shared sweet responses in the comment section. It was definitely a life-changing moment in time for viewers of Bravo.
“We are devastated to say that our beloved Giggy has passed away this morning,” Lisa wrote in the caption of her post. “He was truly loved, and we know how many of you loved him too. Our sweet Gigolo was such an incredible, unique dog, but mainly, because of him, we started The Vanderpump Dog Foundation and embarked on our mission to save as many dogs as possible.”
“He inspired us to start our work in rescue, and for that we will always be grateful,” she added. “Giggy’s legacy will live on, through every dog @vanderpumpdogs saves. Thank you all for your support. Rest In Peace Giggy, we love you. – Ken & Lisa”
Once the post went up, it didn’t take long for Andy and others to respond. “Giggy was the first dog of Bravo. Truly love at first sight for the cutest pup we’d ever seen. RIP beautiful Gigolo,” Andy wrote in the comments section of Lisa’s post along with a red heart emoji.
“RIP Giggy, you were and always will be iconic!” Vanderpump Rules star Katie Maloney-Schwartz also wrote. Other stars from the Bravo show, such as Scheana Shay and Tom Schwartz, also gave love to Lisa.
Scheana left a bunch of sad face emojis while Katie’s husband, Tom wrote, “RIP Giggy you were loved by many and brought so much joy to this world.”
Singer Ally Brooke followed suit with her own comment to Lisa. “I’m so very sorry for your loss. I know the pain of losing our pets is unlike any other. Giggy was a special and iconic dog and he will be missed so much by so many. He brought so much joy. I’m sending you all the love in the world,” she wrote.
Finally, the official page for the Andy-hosted Bravo show, Watch What Happens Live, also took the time to write some kind words about Giggy. “RIP GIGGY” the comment read along with a red heart emoji. “The Gigster will forever be missed. Sending you lots of love & positive energy.”
Although Lisa didn’t reveal the cause of Giggy’s passing, she previously gave fans some insight into his health, like in 2019, when she revealed he had alopecia, which is a condition that causes hair loss in small patches. The cute canine became quite the star on Bravo after his loving mom Lisa would take him almost everywhere and dress him in amazing outfits such as tuxedos and her favorite color, pink.
