The White House is going to need to hire some new body doubles. First Lady Melania Trump went blonde and debuted the sunny new hairstyle during an event kicking off the Trump administration’s last holiday season at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. Trump, 50, had a fresh blowout with long layers and kept her roots dark. You can see a before and after of FLOTUS’ natural brunette locks and her blonde makeover below.

Trump beamed while standing in the White House’s front drive as a carriage, pulled by two clydesdale horses, arrived with the 2020 Christmas tree. Trump inspected the majestic fir closely while wearing a houndstooth Balenciaga coat with a shawl neckline, knee-high heeled boots, and black leather gloves. She looked extremely chipper for someone who apparently hates having to preside over White House holiday traditions.

Picking the holiday decor for the White House is a tradition that falls on First Ladies, but Trump made it clear in a secretly-recorded phone call with former best friend Stephanie Winston Wolkoff that she wasn’t interested. In the taped call, Trump can be heard telling Winston Wolkoff, “I’m working like ass, my ass off at Christmas stuff, who gives a f**k about Christmas stuff and decorations.” She added, But I need to do it, right? Correct?”

Winston Wolkoff, also a former advisor to the First Lady, released the tell-all Melania and Me: The Rise and Fall of My Friendship with the First Lady in September 2020. She has released a series of recordings with Trump following the Christmas fiasco, including one with HollywoodLife, in which Trump finds out that Stormy Daniels scored the cover of Vogue.
