Chase Atlantic is the band you need to know! The pop rockers on the rise have everyone talking thanks to their new album & they caught up with HL for an EXCLUSIVE chat following its release.
Meet your new favorite band. Somewhere between pure pop and hard rock you’ll find the music of Chase Atlantic, a trio from Cairns, Australia. The guys may have first met while auditioning for the X Factor back home in 2012, but years later, they’re well on their way to being bonafide rockstars. We caught up with the band after the release of their latest record, Phases, to hear about their plans for the rest of 2019 and much more!
Two of you are brothers, but how did you guys link up with Christian?
We all met in 2012 after auditioning for X Factor Australia. We started speaking about Skrillex and how we were all interested in producing.
What artists had the biggest influence on you while growing up?
David Bowie, Marilyn Manson, The Beatles, Bee Gees, all sorts of stuff.
Congrats on the new album — why that title, PHASES?
The PHASES album was a huge step in a different direction of music for us. So it refers to going through phases musically as well as mentally. The album also follows a space themed concept, so the term “phases” fit perfectly with that.
Love the newest single, ‘Stuck In My Brain.’ What was the inspiration there?
The song is about mental health and how we used to deal with it through substance abuse, and how that it is not the way to solve your problems.
How do you guys define your sound?
Dark Nocturnal Bliss. We like the juxtaposition of those words visually.
What’s the best piece of advice the you guys have ever gotten from another artist?
Respect your band mates because at the end of the day, you guys are brothers.
What else can fans look forward to in 2019?
Lots more shows and lots more music just for you guys!
