Embattled singer R. Kelly is facing additional 11 new charges to the 10 counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse he was hit with in February involving four women, three of who were minors at the time. According to a May 30 indictment obtained by CBS Chicago, they include “aggravated criminal sex assault, criminal sex assault and aggravated criminal sex abuse.” In the case of a girl named as “JP,” the singer allegedly engaged in sex acts “by the use of force or threat of force and…acted in such a manner as to threaten or endanger the life of JP.”

The 52-year-old singer’s lawyer is stressing that the new counts involve one of the alleged victims in the current case against him and not a new victim. Attorney Steve Greenberg tweeted out “#RKelly was NOT charged with a new case. He was recharged in an existing case, same alleged victim and time (a decade ago) It changes nothing.” Kelly has denied all of the charges to date.

Kelly had turned himself in to Chicago PD on Feb. 22 after a grand jury handed down a 10 count indictment of aggravated criminal sexual abuse of four women. Over a dozen accusers reportedly came forward to testify to the grand jury, according to TMZ. On Jan. 3, Lifetime network aired a three night documentary Surviving R. Kelly which detailed the history of allegations of sexual abuse of minors by the singer. A week after the doc aired, Cook County, Illinois, State’s Attorney Kim Foxx said her office had received numerous new calls from victims alleging sexual abuse by the singer and that her office was investigating those claims.

After the documentary aired, Kelly was dropped by his record label RCA. He sat down for a tearful interview with CBS This Morning’s Gayle King on March 5 where he declared ““I didn’t do this stuff! This is not me. I am fighting for my f***ing life!” He added, ““People are going back to my past — that’s exactly what they’re doing — and they’re trying to add all of this stuff now to that. To make all of the stuff that’s going on now, feels real to people.”
