The Voice season 15 has come to an end! After an amazing two-hour finale event, a new champion was announced. And the winner of season 15 is… CHEVEL SHEPHERD! Kelly Clarkson’s 16-year-old singer from New Mexico beat out Chris Kroeze, Kirk Jay, and Kennedy Holmes for the title. Chris came in second place, followed by Kirk and Kennedy in third and fourth place.
Chevel being named the new champion means Kelly has back-to-back wins on The Voice. Kelly won with Brynn Cartelli in season 14. Brynn performed her new single “Last Night’s Mascara” during the finale, and she is a star on the rise. Kelly knows a winner when she sees one! After all, she did win the first season of American Idol! Kelly rushed the stage after Chevel’s name was announced to hug her new champion. The 16-year-old singer’s family couldn’t hide their excitement!
Throughout the night, the final four finalists hit the stage with some notable guests. The performances were absolutely incredible. Chevel performed “Speechless” alongside Dan + Shay, Kirk performed “Back To Life” with Rascal Flatts, Chris performed “Long Train Runnin” with the Doobie Brothers, and Kennedy performed “When Love Takes Over” with Kelly Rowland. Halsey, Dierks Bentley, and Panic! at the Disco hit the stage as well. John Legend performed “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas” during the show. John will be returning to The Voice for season 16 as a new coach! Jennifer Hudson will not be a coach for season 16. Kelly, Blake Shelton, and Adam Levine are all returning as coaches. The Voice season 16 will premiere Feb. 25, 2019. Congrats again to Chevel! We can’t wait to see what this next chapter has in store for you!
