Although we’d like to volunteer as tribute, Harry and Meghan have already selected godparents! We’ve got all the details on when they reportedly asked George and Amal.
Meghan Markle, 37, and Prince Harry, 33, aren’t expecting a baby YET, but that didn’t stop them from picking out godparents. There’s no time like the present, right? Wasting no time, they reportedly popped the question to George, 57, and Amal Clooney, 40, while the couples were living out the double date of our dreams on a private cruise in Lake Como. “George and Amal were honored and immediately they said, ‘Yes.’ They then made Meghan and Harry promise to return the favor if they have another child of their own,” an inside source told Heat. Aw, wouldn’t that be the best? It was cute enough to see George and Amal at Meghan and Harry’s royal wedding — we don’t know if we’d be able to handle this!
Unfortunately, we’ve got awhile to wait before that happens. Even though fans of the couple have been rearing for Meghan and Harry to have a baby ever since they tied the knot, we haven’t spotted a baby bump at any of their royal outings yet — key word being “yet.” We’re hoping for a pregnancy announcement sooner rather than later, especially now that this report is saying a Hollywood power couple will be involved. So what exactly made the royals pick George and Amal? “After spending so much time with them, and seeing how wonderful they are with their own children, they decided George and Amal would be perfect,” the source said.
We know what you’re thinking, but no, Meghan and Harry did not forget about Prince William, 36, and Kate Middleton, 36. In fact, the other royal couple will reportedly also be godparents to the future newborn. Sound odd? It isn’t — at least, not for the royal family. Prince Louis, four months, has six godparents, one more than his older sister Princess Charlotte, 3.
You know what that means! Meghan and Harry might add even more contenders into the mix. Why stop at four?
