Ooh la la! A pregnant Kate Middleton engaged in a rare public display of affection, when she touched Prince William’s knee during a visit to the BBC studios last week.
Prince William and Kate Middleton, both 35, are almost never seen holding hands or showing any sign of PDA while in public, as they like to appear professional during royal engagements. But just last week, the pregnant Duchess of Cambridge seemingly gave in to her innate desires, when she was caught touching her husband in public! And it wasn’t just any touch — she touched his knee as they were interviewed for BBC’s Blue Peter during a visit to Manchester. We know… you’re swooning, right?
Interestingly, the gesture reminded us of the way Prince Harry, 32, and Meghan Markle, 35, touched each other during their engagement interview, when they were seen holding hands throughout the entire televised event. Meghan also touched Harry’s knee, as they joked around on camera. Could Kate Middleton have been inspired by Harry and Meghan’s PDA-filled interview? It’s certainly possible. But we must give Kate and Willam some credit — this isn’t the first time they have displayed some PDA. It’s just the first time in a while.
For instance, at the 2012 Olympics in London, they shared a spontaneous hug during the British team’s gold medal victory over France in track cycling. Cute, right? Kate also kissed William on the cheek during the couple’s royal tour of the United States in 2011. She did so while presenting William with a silver and gold trophy cup after a polo match, and it was super cute! And obviously, their Buckingham Palace balcony kiss — during their 2011 wedding — became one of the most famous images from their special day.
