All Hallows Eve is just around the corner and if you’re throwing a party this year, you might want to consider up-ing your bar game with some super stylish and super delicious cocktails brought to you from two of NYC’s coolest hot spots.
Every year, just before Halloween, New York City becomes a foodie paradise — you know, even more than it normally is! The annual New York City Wine & Food Festival kicks off this Thursday, October 12, and it’s poised to be the best festival yet! With four days filled with amazing panels, tastings and presentations, anyone with tastebuds will be treated to something delicious. One of the highlights of the festival will surely be the Ladies’ Night: Craft Cocktails & Big Bites event hosted byAnne Burrell. It will be a rare chance to meet, mingle, and enjoy cocktail creations from some the best female mixologist’s in the city.
However, if you won’t be able to make it to the festival — don’t fret! We’ve got two cocktail recipes to share with you from two of the women creating hauntingly delicious beverages for NYCWFF! First, mixologist Katipai from Dirty Precious restaurant, who will be at the Ladies’ Night event, shared her recipe for the wickedly divine Coven Couture (pictured above). Here’s what you’ll need to make it yourself:
1.75 oz altos olmeca blanco tequila
.5 oz Contratto vermouth Bianco
.5 oz tio Pepe fino sherry
.25oz Bols Parfait Amour
Combine all ingredients in mixing glass, stir with Ice until sufficient dilution. Strain into chilled coupe. Lemon twist oils onto the surface and discard peel garnish with black fruit leather. (Ours is house made with blueberry, blackberry, apple, lemon, activated charcoal, and tequila)
And second, Meaghan Montagano, Beverage Director and General Manager of Casa Pública in Brooklyn, who will be on hand for the Tacos And Tequila event on Thursday, shared her large format “jello shot” inspired cocktail perfect for anyone who has tons of people coming over for Halloween that you want to impress ! The drink’s called ‘Ghouls Night Out’ and here’s what you’ll need:
1.5oz anejo tequila
1.5oz cherry coke syrup
