Just one week before the anniversary of the horrific Pulse nightclub shooting, a new report claims that at least 5 people have been killed inside a local Orlando, Florida business. So sad.
Five people were killed and seven more injured when an unidentified 45-year-old man opened fire inside his former workplace around 8am on Monday, June 5 in Orlando, Florida, according to Sheriff Jerry Dennings. Four victims were male and one female, with only one of the males making it to the hospital before passing. The Sheriff confirmed that there is “no indication” the suspect was in any way connected to terrorism, claiming that he was a disgruntled employee who was fired from the business in April 2017. The suspect was carrying a handgun and a knife and, according to the Sheriff, used the gun to take his own life after ambushing his former co-workers. That brings the total death count from this tragedy up to six.
Sheriff Dennings also shared that the suspect had “minor” infractions on his criminal records. Those infractions include possession of marijuana, a DUI and misdemeanor battery. The first 911 call came in at 8:03am, but by the time police arrived four of the victims were already dead along with the suspect. This is a truly devastating event for Orlando, especially because it comes just one week before the first anniversary of the massacre at Pulse Nightclub in June 12, 2016. Florida Governor Rick Scott released the following statement: “Over the past year, the Orlando community has been challenged like never before. I have been briefed by our law enforcement officials on this tragic incident and Ann and I are praying for the families who lost loved ones today.” He also asked the people of Florida to pray for the victims and their families, calling the shooting a “senseless act of violence.” Be sure to stay tuned to HollywoodLife.com for the latest updates on this deadly attack.
