Noel Gallagher was noticeably missing at the One Love Manchester concert on June 4, even though his brother, Liam Gallagher, took the stage to represent their band, Oasis. After the show, Liam publicly reignited the brothers’ feud by going OFF on Noel on Twitter.
Liam Gallagher of the band Oasis surprised the crowd at Ariana Grande’s Manchester benefit concert on June 4 with a short set toward the end of the show, but his brother and bandmate, Noel Gallagher, was nowhere to be seen. The brothers have publicly feuded for a LONG time, and Liam revealed things are as bad as ever between them in a string of tweets after the concert. “Manchester I’d like to apologise for my brothers absence lat night,” he wrote. “Very disappointed stay beautiful stay safe. Noels out of the f***ing country weren’t we all love get on a f***ing plane and play your tunes for the kids you sad f***.”
It’s recently been rumored that Oasis would be reuniting after they disbanded in 2009, and one fan made sure to point that out in response to Liam’s rant. “That’s the reunion out the window then haha,” the fan wrote, to which Liam replied, “F*** the reunion it ain’t about oasis it’s about people helping other people and he’s once again shown his true f***ing colors.” Ever since Oasis formed in 1991, there’s been trouble between Liam and Noel, and Noel officially quit the group in 2009, letting fans know in a statement, “I simply could not go on working with Liam a day longer.”
Obviously, the One Love concert was about so much more than a petty feud between these brothers, though. Just two weeks after 22 people were killed at Ariana’s concert in Manchester, she returned to the city with special guests like Justin Bieber, Katy Perry and Miley Cyrus to put on a show to raise money for the victims and their families, and it was a very special and emotional night. The superstars impressively raised about $3 million.
