Look out, Steph Curry! For a moment, Game 1 of the 2017 NBA Finals turned into a game of dodgeball, as Steph got beaned in the kisser with a basketball. Watching the Golden State Warriors star getting bonked is pretty funny, but Steph’s reaction is what makes this accident hilarious.
Getting hit in the head with a basketball is no joke, but Steph Curry, 29, seemed to laugh off the injury during the first game of the NBA Finals. During the June 1 match between the Golden State Warriors and the Cleveland Cavaliers, a referee hit Steph in the face while attempting to pass the ball to, what looks like, another ref. Steph comically collapsed to his feet as if he was pelted with a brick, before shrugging the shot off. Hilarious.
After all, it was going to take more than that to ruin Steph’s night. The Warriors were firmly in control of the game from the start, and Steph finished the night with 28 points (while shooting 6-11 on 3-pointers.) Thanks to Kevin Durant, 28, scoring 38 points in a monster game, the Dubs easily smashed the Cavs in Game 1. Steph had no reason to feel bad, especially when the game ended in a 113-91 rout of the defending champs. If LeBron James, 32, Kyrie Irving, 25, and the rest of Cavs can’t figure out how to stop KD, then this series will be over in four games.
Of course, the 20 turnovers the Cavs committed during the game didn’t really help their chances. Perhaps they need to have someone give them a motivation speech ahead of Game 2? Ayesha Curry, 28, makes sure to give Steph a quick pep talk before every game, a source EXCLUSIVELY tells HollywoodLife.com. It seems these speeches have worked. Maybe Savannah Brinson, 30, can psych her hubby, King James, before Game 2?
Maybe Rihanna, 29, needs to step up her shade game to curse the Warriors? The “Work” singer was court side for Game 1, doing her best to root the Cavs to victory. She actually left her seat to bow down to LeBron, giving the player many think to be the “Greatest Of All Time” some props. While the game was going on, just like any passionate fan, she heckled her opponents. As KD was going for a free throw, RiRi allegedly shouted “BRICK.” Kevin, after the shot, turned to glare at someone in the front row. Oooh. Forget KD’s beef with Russell Westbrook, 28. He’s not got some bad blood with Rihanna.
Who do you want to win the NBA Finals, HollywoodLifers? After that vicious Game 1, do you think the Cavs have a chance of defeating the Warriors? Or will LeBron lead his boys to another title?
