Of all the guys in One Direction, Niall Horan always seemed to have the most fond memories of his time in the band, but now, even he’s admitting there were some downfalls. So, is he still down for a reunion with his bandmates? And, if so….when?
Niall Horan’s solo career has totally taken off with the success of his second single “Slow Hands,” but that doesn’t mean he’s giving up on a future with One Direction. “I told my managers from the start: When One Direction comes knocking, f*** what I’m doing,” he told Billboard in a new interview. “I don’t give a s*** if I sold out arenas or won Grammys. I wouldn’t be doing this if it wasn’t for that.” However, even Niall had to admit that there were parts of being in the world’s most popular boy band that he didn’t love. “I didn’t want the schedule anymore,” he revealed. “I’ve spent so much time setting alarms on phones.” He added that the worst part was “all me mates were backpacking, while I wasn’t even allowed outside of the hotel.”
Still, ever since 1D split in Dec. 2015, Niall has assured fans that it’s not the end of the band for good. Even though he, Harry Styles, Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson have ALL put out solo music since then, there’s definitely still hope, and it might happen sooner than we think. “When [the reunion] will be, I don’t know,” he explained. “I prefer not to do it after I’m 40. I’d prefer the next few years.” Hey, New Kids on the Blocks and the Backstreet Boys are still rockin’ it, so anything’s possible!
Don’t worry, though: Niall still hangs out with the guys when he can. “I see Louis and [his son] little Freddie all the time,” he said. We also saw Niall and Liam reunite at Wango Tango earlier this month, although the 23-year-old revealed his schedule hasn’t allowed him to meet Liam’s newborn baby just yet. And while it seems Niall hasn’t seen Harry in quite some time, they tried to meet up while he was in L.A. last week, and Niall had nothing but great things to say about his pal’s solo work: “He’s smashin’ it!”
Of course, when it comes to Zayn Malik, 24, who left the group nearly a year before it disbanded, things are a little more tense. The guys had an awkward reunion at the American Music Awards last November, but since then, Z’s pretty much done his own thing. SO, how do we get him on board for the 1D reunion!?
HollywoodLifers, when do you think One Direction should reunite?!
