Looks like the Phelps fam may give us another gold medalist! During an adorable mock press conference, Michael Phelps announced he & his son Boomer are partnering with Huggies AND training for the 2032 Olympics! Future Olympian or not, this sweet vid featuring the 1-year-old is EVERYTHING!
Michael Phelps, 31, and his family — wife Nicole Johnson Phelps, 31, and son Boomer Phelps, 1 — announced on May 25 that they’re #Trainingfor2032 with Huggies Little Swimmers! The partnership will showcase how parents and babies everywhere can bond and learn together through safe water play — how adorable is that? At a mock press conference, the Olympian and his fam explained the importance of parents and babies engaging in safe water play while announcing Michael’s “returning” to the 2032 Olympics — as Boomer’s coach that is!
“Some of the best memories of my life have been in the water – and none more special than the days I spend swimming with Boomer. I’m not teaching Boomer to master the butterfly just yet, but #Trainingfor2032 includes safe water play that helps build comfort and confidence in the water,” Michael said. “I’m partnering with Huggies Little Swimmers because I want all babies to be the best swimmers they can be.” Of course “training” means something different for every baby. For some, it’s simply running through sprinklers in the backyard while to others it may be a day at the beach. No matter what, the campaign wants to make sure babies and parents are being safe around water AND having fun!
“Huggies is excited to be partnering with the Phelps family to offer fun ways for parents to help their babies thrive in the water,” Giusy Buonfantino, president of Kimberly-Clark Baby and Child Care North America, added. “Huggies Little Swimmers swimpants are designed specifically for the water so they don’t swell, and feature easy open sides for an adjustable fit so babies can focus on fun.”

While it may be a bit too early to tell if Boomer has the same passion for swimming that his father has, it’s no joke Michael has already been teaching his son how to be comfortable in the water! In fact, at only 8 weeks old, the little guy was already getting used to the pool with his gold-medalist dad. “The little man loved the water today!! @boomerrphelps and I got some extra laps in today!! #mpswim,” Michael shared on Instagram along with a cute father-son pool pic back in July. Aw!
Tell us, HollywoodLifers — do you think Boomer really will be an Olympian like his dad one day? How adorable is this video?
