No one takes over a stage like the ladies of TLC. Chilli and T-Boz performed on the May 23 finale of ‘Dancing with the Stars’ live in Los Angeles and if you say you didn’t bob along to ‘Waterfalls,’ you’re lying.
Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas, 46, and Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins, 47, definitely still have it. The ladies sang their hit from ’94, “Waterfalls” while Maks Chmerkovskiy and Heather Morris returned to Dancing with the Stars to dance one last time! They also included the rap verse by the late Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes in the track.
TLC is also about to drop their fifth and final album, TLC, which includes new songs as well as remastered versions of “No Scrubs”, “Creep”, “Unpretty,” “Diggin’ on You,” and “Baby-Baby-Baby.” It will also be their first album in 15 years — in 2002, they released 3D, which they recored with “Left Eye” before her death. TLC was actually a product of a Kickstarter campaign — they asked fans to donate at lease $5 to reach their goal of $150,00; they reached it in two days, and other artists also made huge donations. New Kids on the Block donated $10,000, Katy Perry donated $5,000. They ended up raising $400,000.
“Our final album will stay true to the TLC sound, always confronting the real issues and life experiences that we all must face every single day, everywhere,” the duo wrote when the campaign launched. “We write music that people relate to . . . timeless music. No matter the trends, we feel like our music is always relevant.”
