Over. Drake put any existing beef with Ludacris to an end during his winning speech at the 2017 Billboard Music Awards. On May 21st at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Drake killed the longstanding feud between the rap legends. Keep reading for all the deets.
It was Drake‘s big night at the 2017 Billboard Music Awards. Co-hosted by Ludacris and Vanessa Hudgens, Drake picked-up plenty of awards at the show and also used the night to spread some real love to fellow rapper Luda publicly ending their feud. “We are all here on Earth for a limited amount of time.” Drake stumbled through his speech as he accepted the award for Top Billboard 200 Album for “Views.” Drake continued, “We got to show love while we are here…Ludacris, we haven’t always seen eye to eye, but I’ve always been a big fan of yours and I got a lot of love for you. I want to let you know that face to face, while I’m still here.” Ahh, so sweet.
Their feud dates back to 2011 when the rappers traded shade on tracks but now all that seems to be over as Drake showered Ludacris, and Vanessa Hudgens AND Nicki Minaj with some real love during one of his many speeches of the night. If it seemed like every time you looked up at the screen Drake was accepting another award, that’s because he was. Drake brought in a record-breaking 13 awards, besting Adele‘s previous record of 12. Congrats to Drake for taking the opportunity to put an end to any negative energy in hip hop.
Drake’s busy night at the BBMAs was not limited to accepting awards, ending feuds and flirting with all the pretty woman at the show. The peacemaker was also one of the many performers. In the middle of the famous Bellagio fountain in Las Vegas, with water squirting everywhere, Drake performed his hit, “Gyalchester.” Wow, what a night for the dude, way to go OVO.
