You thought you were emotional during ‘This is Us’ season one? It looks like you better brace yourself for season two. The cast presented a new video at NBCUniversal’s Upfront presentation and there wasn’t a dry eye in the house.
Production for NBC’s hugest hit, This is Us, hasn’t even begun but we already have a teaser for season two — yes, they’re just that good. At the network’s presentation on Monday, May 15, a new video was shown without new footage, but instead showing the real fans that have been impacted by the show. One had never known who their real father was; another related directly with Rebecca as a mother; while another related to the struggles Kate goes through with her weight. What they didn’t know was that the cast was watching them explain why the show was so important to them, and they decided to surprise them mid-way through. And yes, there was shock, laughter and a lot of tears.
You’ve been warned: you’ll be crying through this. Milo Ventimiglia, Mandy Moore, Sterling K. Brown, Chrissy Metz, Justin Hartley, Susan Kelechi Watson and Chris Sullivan were all at Radio City Music Hall for the presentation, to hit the stage after the video was shown. Of course audiences met the This is Us group at last year’s Upfronts when the first trailer aired, attracting 17 million views — a new record — in just three days.
This is Us will air on Thursdays at 9PM ET on NBC.
