Is there anything Gigi Hadid can’t do?! The major model walks on the moon in the ‘Harper’s Bazaar’ June/July issue, where her close pal Taylor Swift revealed why she always turns to Gigi for advice whenever she’s dealing with a difficult decision.
From the discovery of the exoplanets to the Chanel Fall/Winter 2017 runway show, space age vibes are all around us — and it’s so fitting to see out-of-this-world model, Gigi Hadid, 22, pose for an intergalactic shoot, all in celebration of Harper’s Bazaar‘s June/July issue, which continues to commemorate the magazine’s 150th year. Gigi is in good company, as her major model pal, Kendall Jenner, landed the June anniversary cover of the magazine — but back to Gigi’s far out fashion! For the June/July issue, Gigi is all decked out in the space-age Chanel snuggie/blanket that turned heads on the runway during Paris Fashion Week and the mag even turned to Gigi’s BFF, Taylor Swift, to unveil a side of Gigi we don’t get to see when she’s rocking the runway.
“As a friend, Gigi is one of the first people I go to for advice. She has this incredible ability to see all sides of a situation and simplify it for you,” Taylor told the mag. Not only is she a great friend, but her amazing, down-to-earth personality and driven work ethic make her amazing to be around. “Gigi’s number one rule is to treat people the way she’d want to be treated. She’s on time (or early) to work, says hello to everyone on set, asks them how they are and actually listens to their response,” Taylor added. “She is an innately kind and inclusive person.”
The model also opened up about how she tries to keep a balance between work and downtime. “A lot of the time I feel suffocated by my own work ethic and by the expectations I put on myself,” Gigi said. “[Bella Hadid] is so understanding of the demands of this job and it’s really nice when you have people who say, ‘It’s okay to take time for yourself.’”
Although she’s a regular on the runway, Gigi admitted that she’ll always have nerves when she rocks the catwalk. “I think it’s always going to be nerve-racking for me,” she said. “There’s always a little thing, like the shoes [are tight] or the dress is heavy or whatever, so that’s what you’re focused on, to make sure your walk is going to go well.”
