Fast, furious, forever! Vin Diesel and the cast of the ‘Fast & Furious’ franchise accepted the Generation Award at the MTV Movie & TV Awards and gave a touching tribute to the late Paul Walker.
Vin Diesel, 48, Jordana Brewster, 37, Tyrese Gibson, 38 and Michelle Rodriguez, 38, accepted the Generation Award at the MTV Movie & TV Awards on May 7 on behalf of the entire Fast & Furious franchise. This is the first time the award has been presented to a full cast and franchise instead of a single actor or actress.
With their eighth film continuing to be a leader in the box office, Vin Diesel, who has been in the most Fast & Furious movies than the rest of the original cast members, shared his gratitude when accepting the award. Vin started his speech recalling in 2002 when he and Paul Walker were given the “Best Duo” award at the MTV Movie Awards. He raised the popcorn trophy and thanked his boy “Pablo” in heaven and ended with, “I hope we’ve made you proud,” speaking to his late co-star and friend, Paul. So sad. Watch his empowering speech below.

To also honor Fast & Furious and to celebrate the eighth installment, The Fate Of The Furious, Pitbull, Camila Cabello and J Balvin performed their hit song from the soundtrack called “Hey Ma.”
The award is especially significant for the Fast & Furious cast, as they publicly suffered the loss of cast member Paul Walker back in 2013. Paul, known for his role of Brian O’Conner in the films, was killed in a car accident during a day off of filming the seventh movie. The film had to be completed using Paul’s brother and stunt doubles. The tragic loss was absolutely felt by the entire Fast & Furious cast, and is still a sore topic for them.
During press for the eighth film, Vin discussed how much he missed Paul, whom he nicknamed “Pablo.” “A lot of people go, ‘What’s it like making a movie without Pablo’ and that’s not the right question. The real question, is “What’s it like living without your brother?” he told CNN. In 2015, Vin named his daughter Pauline after the late actor.
Other Generation Awards have been given to Will Smith, Reese Witherspoon, Robert Downey Jr., Mark Wahlberg, Sandra Bullock, Jamie Foxx, Johnny Depp and many more timeless, amazing actors.
