So sad! Ed Sherin, the genius who executive produced over 160 episodes of ‘Law & Order’, tragically passed away in Nova Scotia on May 4. The icon – who also directed more than 20 Broadway shows – was 87 years old.
Our hearts are breaking for Ed Sherin, whose death was announced on May 4. The Emmy-winning artist was famous for producing more than 160 Law & Order episodes over his very long career, as well as directing over 20 Broadway shows. He was a part of the Directors Guild of America for half of a century, and the guild announced the sad news to the world. Unfortunately there are still very few details about his death, except that he died in Nova Scotia.
“Our hearts are heavy today as we remember our dear friend and colleague Ed, whose legacy as a director, commitment to our guild and strength and fervor in his service were an example for us all,” said a statement from former DGA President Michael Apted. Ed served as vice president with Michael.
Michael spent many years as a stage and screen actor before getting into directing and producing. He married Jane Alexander, an actress, and leaves behind her and their four children including stepson actor-director Jace Alexander. We’re sure they’ll miss him dearly and our hearts go out to them.
