We are totally and completely shocked by this news — MSNBC’s Morning Joe co-hosts, Mika Brzezinski, 50, and Joe Scarborough, 54, are engaged! The two hosts kept their relationship completely under wraps and when they finally made their engagement announcement, we were shocked but so happy for the lovebirds! We have to talk about her engagement ring, though, because it’s incredible — what do you guys think of her ring?
Joe proposed to Mika during a trip to Hotel du Cap in Antibes, where they were celebrating Mika’s 50th birthday, and that’s when he decided to pop the question. Mika explained the proposal to Vanity Fair, saying, “Halfway up the hill, he said he needed to sit down. We hadn’t been feeling well, so I thought, Oh, poor guy, he can’t make it up the hill.”
Mika gushed over the proposal explaining how Joe “got on one knee with an oval-shaped diamond ring set in platinum that he’d been hiding in his suitcase for days and asked her to marry him.” Mika said, “When I saw him on one knee, I started laughing nervously, almost hysterically,” she said. “And then he asked, and I said, ‘Absolutely.’” The ring is tremendous and a huge oval diamond with a thick platinum band — it’s flawless.
