Are any alliances actually alliances on ‘Survivor: Game Changers?’ The answer is no. This week proved that even the closest bonds can be broken.
Following the flip-flop that sent Debbie packing and the alliances amuck last week, everyone was worried about where they stood — which meant whoever won the reward really needed to bond.
Two teams were chosen for the reward challenge: the blue team consisted of Andrea, Sarah, Aubry, Zeke and Brad; the orange team was Sierra, Troyzan, Ciere, Ty and Michaela. The teams were pretty much even through the entire challenge — and obstacle course, a chair life, then the hardest puzzle, maybe ever on Survivor. I’m pretty sure a puzzle has never lasted that long — nearly an hour — but ultimately, Zeke came up with the 11-letter-word: REINVENTING. Once they got that, the solution was easy: “Reinventing how this game is played.” Team blue won reward: a spa day with a full meal and an overnight stay in a real bed.
Zeke and Brad clicked on the reward, upsetting Andrea and Aubry. With that, Andrea thought it was time to take him out instead of going after Sierra — Cirie agreed Zeke was a bigger threat than anyone. Sarah however, was not up for that since she wanted to keep Zeke around; to get Cirie to agree, she shared with her the advantage she had to steal a vote. Ultimately, they wanted Brad and Troy in with them, too.
If you knew dominos, you had an advantage in the immunity challenge. Each competitor had to very carefully set up blocks, one at a time, the right distance apart. You also had to high step through a wooden maze while doing so — if you bumped into the wood, it would all knock down. Most of the girls lead the domino competition, and it was Andrea who pulled ahead with the W, completing the entire row first. And she was coming for Zeke.
Sierra told Andrea and Cirie she’d turn on her alliance and vote however they wanted — and they wanted Zeke. So, could they convince Sarah? Well, it didn’t seem like it. She and Michaela both told Andrea they would vote Zeke, but neither of them wanted to. Together, they weighed their options.
At tribal, it seemed like the six vs. four was still there…ish? When it came time to vote, Sierra wrote down Tai, a name we hadn’t heard all episode, and Zeke wrote down Sierra. Here’s how the rest of the votes went: Tai voted Sierra; Troyzan, Sierra, and Brad voted Tai; and Michaela, Andrea, Aubry, and Cirie voted Zeke. Yes, Zeke was sent home. Naturally, in his exit-interview was positive — Andrea came for him because he was coming for her and she made a great, game changing move.
HollywoodLifers, were you surprised by the elimination this week? Was it Zeke’s time to go? Was it the smartest move?
