The 2017 Met Gala was a huge success & we saw so many stunning dresses from all of our favorite stars! The red carpet was packed with a bunch of different looks but one trend that totally stood out was feathers & we’re obsessed. Who do you think rocked feathers the best? VOTE.
The red carpet at the 2017 Met Ball was absolutely amazing and we saw so many gorgeous looks from our favorite stars. The theme for this year’s Costume Institute Gala was “Rei Kawakubo/Comme des Garçons: Art of the In-Between” at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC and our fave celebs did not disappoint. There were so many unique dresses and outfits, which made it hard for us to pick a favorite. We did see a bunch of trends, though — red dresses, extravagant trains, and feathers were all over the carpet and we can’t decide who rocked feathers best. What do you think? VOTE.
We have to start with Lupita Nyong’o, 34, because she looked unreal in her neon orange Prada gown. The slinky straight silhouette hugged her frame perfectly and the off-the-shoulder neckline was completely covered in feathers and organza. She added such a fun pop of color and light to the red carpet, we are obsessed with her entire look — it’s so simple and elegant but fun at the same time.
Blake Lively, 29, took our breath away when she arrived in this ensemble. She opted to wear a skin-tight long sleeve Atelier Versace gown which featured intricately draped gold beading and a plunging neckline that showed off ample cleavage. The sexy mermaid gown was super sexy on it’s own, until we saw the train of the dress which was completely made out of layers of blue feathers — it was unbelievable.
Another one of our fave feather looks came from Julianne Moore, 56, who maybe took the trend above and beyond, but opted to give it a go regardless. She donned a Calvin Klein by Appointment dress that was one big fluffy feather. The dress stopped just above her knees and was totally made out of thin pink, orange and yellow feathers. She topped her bold look off with white peep-toe sandals.
Sarah Paulson, 42, looked so elegant and gorgeous when she arrived in a sating Prada gown. The long-sleeve navy dress was simple and straight, but the hem and cuffs of the dress made up for the simple silhouette. We’re obsessed with the cuffs on the arms because they were covered in red and black feathers and they looked like two huge pom-poms, same goes for the fluffy hem.
What do you guys think — who rocked the feather trend best? VOTE.
